About Us
Hi, I'm Sean, the creator of Compounding Edges, a daily fantasy sports (DFS) analytics platform designed to provide the most advanced simulations, backtesting tools, and optimization technology available today. My mission is to equip serious DFS players with the sharpest tools they need to gain a real edge and outperform the competition.
My journey into DFS began many years ago as a player. While I enjoyed the challenge, I found that existing commercial solvers and simulators often catered to the lowest common denominator. These tools were designed to appeal broadly rather than focusing on the precision and sophistication required to consistently beat the field. I realized that if I wanted to stay ahead, I'd need to create solutions tailored to high-level strategy and performance.
Before diving into programming, I spent eight years playing online poker professionally, a career that honed my analytical skills and competitive mindset. When I transitioned into programming over a decade ago, I combined my passion for data analysis, gaming, and strategy to develop what would eventually become Compounding Edges.
Every feature on the platform is built with one goal in mind: empowering DFS players to make smarter decisions and maximize their success. Whether you're simulating games, backtesting strategies, or optimizing lineups, you can trust that Compounding Edges is here to help you gain and maintain your edge.
Hi, I’m Drew, Co-Founder of Compounding Edges. I’ve been playing DFS since 2016, closely following breaking news and constantly looking for small edges. At the same time, my professional background has centered on data engineering and software development, where I’ve designed and maintained large-scale systems built to process and deliver reliable data.
Before working on this full-time, I spent about a decade building enterprise platforms as a software engineer. Most recently, I worked at Aumni and continued with the team after it was acquired by JPMorgan Chase. There, I helped design and build systems used by major venture capital firms, including Andreessen Horowitz. Part of that work involved developing KPI tracking infrastructure that gave firms clear visibility into portfolio performance and key investment metrics.
Over time, I realized I wanted to apply that same level of engineering to something I genuinely cared about, so I left JPMorgan Chase to help launch Compounding Edges.
Today, I focus on the technical foundation of the platform. That includes building and maintaining real-time data systems across multiple sources so we can react quickly when news breaks. I also work on automating projections and developing internal tools and workflows that support our analytics and content.
Beyond the technical work, I spend time interacting directly with our users, which I genuinely enjoy. Whether it’s answering questions, gathering feedback, or helping someone think through strategy, I want to ensure what we build truly helps them make better decisions. I also contribute to our SEO efforts and broader digital strategy.
Building something like this takes patience and consistency, qualities I’ve developed as a lifelong Chicago sports fan.
