Overview

  • Philadelphia carries the widest rotation volatility, with Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre Jr. creating several +10.0 min swings for the same value pool.
  • Houston has the slate's biggest single boost, where Kevin Durant being questionable sends JD Davison to +13.0 min and pushes multiple other Rockets above +5.0 min.
  • Lakers and Spurs offer smaller secondary bumps, while Toronto is mostly a fade signal because both affected Raptors lose minutes if A.J. Lawson sits.

Key Pivots

Alpha Pivot

JD Davison owns the slate's biggest minute gain at +13.0 min if Kevin Durant sits. That is the cleanest direct playing-time spike in the pool, and it comes with broad Houston spillover behind it.

The Rockets scenario matters beyond one value piece. Fred VanVleet also gains +8.2 min, while Jabari Smith Jr. jumps +7.4 min, so Houston can reshape both cheap builds and stronger midrange constructions off the same tag.

Secondary Pivots

  • Joel Embiid being doubtful is the next major shift. Justin Edwards gets +12.8 min and Dalen Terry gets +10.6 min, with Adem Bona, MarJon Beauchamp, and Trendon Watford all clearing +7.0 min.
  • Kelly Oubre Jr. being questionable creates a second Philadelphia funnel. Justin Edwards and MarJon Beauchamp both land at +11.5 min, Dalen Terry gets +11.0 min, and Kyle Lowry takes the clear hit at -9.8 min.
  • Austin Reaves being questionable is a smaller but still useful Lakers value node. Dalton Knecht leads at +6.7 min, with Jarred Vanderbilt at +6.0 min and Jake LaRavia at +5.0 min.
  • Toronto is the opposite kind of news. Ja'Kobe Walter drops -6.0 min and Jonathan Mogbo drops -8.1 min if A.J. Lawson sits, so the edge is more about avoidance than replacement value.

Value Targets

  • Justin Edwards is the strongest multi-path value case on the slate. He gains +12.8 min with Embiid doubtful and +11.5 min with Oubre questionable, which makes him the cleanest fit for safer builds tied to late news.
  • JD Davison brings the biggest single jump at +13.0 min if Durant sits. In GPP builds, rotating some exposure to Fred VanVleet attacks the same Houston opening without relying only on the top bench spike.
  • Dalen Terry and MarJon Beauchamp are solid Philadelphia tournament pivots. Both pick up major minute boosts, but their paths are a little more dependent on which PHI tag actually breaks.

Deep Rotation Notes

HOU - Broad spillover

  • Fred VanVleet at +8.2 min and Jabari Smith Jr. at +7.4 min are the strongest non-Davison gains.
  • Jeff Green +6.4 min, Aaron Holiday +6.0 min, Isaiah Crawford +5.2 min, and Reed Sheppard +5.0 min give Houston depth, but the boost is spread wide.

PHI - Bench pool expands

  • Trendon Watford stays live in either path, gaining +7.1 min with Embiid doubtful and +6.2 min with Oubre questionable.
  • Adem Bona also holds across both tags at +7.9 min and +5.9 min, while Quentin Grimes +5.8 min and Tyrese Martin +5.6 min only move in the Oubre scenario.

LAL - Secondary value only

  • Dalton Knecht is the lead Lakers beneficiary at +6.7 min if Reaves sits.
  • Jarred Vanderbilt +6.0 min and Jake LaRavia +5.0 min look more like last-piece fillers than priority plays.

SAS - One off angle

  • Kelly Olynyk is the lone Spurs beneficiary at +6.5 min if Jordan McLaughlin sits.
  • With no other SAS shifts in the data, this is more of a one-off value note than a team-wide DFS target.

TOR - Clear downgrades

  • Jonathan Mogbo at -8.1 min is one of the worst minute hits on the slate.
  • Ja'Kobe Walter also loses ground at -6.0 min, so Toronto is giving subtraction, not value.

Roster Construction

  • In cash-style builds, start with the clearest direct minute spikes such as JD Davison and Justin Edwards. They have the strongest raw playing-time cases in the data.
  • For GPPs, use the same news through Fred VanVleet or MarJon Beauchamp instead of overloading the most obvious bench replacements.
  • Limit exposure to Kyle Lowry (-9.8 min), Jonathan Mogbo (-8.1 min), and Ja'Kobe Walter (-6.0 min). Treat Lakers and Spurs bumps as lineup glue, not primary roster anchors.
