Overview

  • Slate is defined by huge minute spikes for guards and wings, with several role players gaining +10.0 min or more from key Q and Probable tags.
  • Dallas, Denver, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Sacramento drive most of the actionable value, while multiple benches (Cleveland, Miami, LAC) get squeezed hard.
  • Many of the biggest gainers are likely lower-salary rotation pieces, creating a stars-and-scrubs tilt in optimal builds on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Key Pivots

Alpha Pivot

Ryan Nembhard gains a massive projected +18.1 min from the P.J. Washington situation in Dallas, easily the biggest jump on the slate. That type of increase moves him from fringe piece to potential core play, with near-starter minutes at likely value-level pricing.

He also correlates with other Dallas minute gainers like Dwight Powell (+9.2 min), Caleb Martin (+8.9 min), D'Angelo Russell (+8.2 min), Brandon Williams (+8.1 min), and Dante Exum (+5.9 min). In all contest types, Nembhard profiles as a foundational value, and Dallas stacks around him will naturally project very well in optimizers.

Secondary Pivots

  • Denver offers elite value if their guard and star situations hold: Jalen Pickett gains +16.3 min from Jamal Murray, while Spencer Jones spikes +16.9 min from Nikola Jokic and another +8.0 min from Murray. Peyton Watson sits at +7.6 min from Jokic and +7.5 min from Murray, making the Denver secondary rotation one of the highest-upside value clusters on the slate.

  • Milwaukee's guard and wing group is a leverage-rich spot off Kevin Porter Jr. and Gary Harris news. Cole Anthony jumps +13.3 min, Andre Jackson Jr. stacks +8.0, +7.9, and +11.6 min from different tags, and Ryan Rollins swings from -14.3 min to +8.3 min depending on which guard is in or out, creating big ceiling/fragility combinations for tournaments.

  • Detroit quietly offers strong value if Duncan Robinson sits, with Tolu Smith at +11.2 min and Jaden Ivey at +10.1 min. That comes at the expense of multiple bench pieces losing at least -6.5 min, suggesting a tight, fantasy-friendly core.

  • Sacramento's backcourt hinges on Dennis Schroder and Malik Monk, with Keon Ellis popping for +10.4 and +10.2 min from the two tags. Depth pieces like Maxime Raynaud (+7.2 min, but -5.7 min in another outcome) and Nique Clifford (+6.5 min but also -7.2 min) show high volatility, ideal for GPP but fragile for cash.

Value Targets

  • Ryan Nembhard at +18.1 min is the cleanest value on the slate and fits naturally into chalky builds where you jam studs around his expanded role. He is viable in all contest types, with Dallas stacks an easy path to high median lineups.

  • The Denver trio of Jalen Pickett (+16.3 min), Spencer Jones (+16.9 min), and Peyton Watson (+7.6 min) projects as premier mid-range values when they benefit from Murray and Jokic. They will likely be core pieces in optimals, so using only one or two together can be a way to manage ownership in large-field GPPs.

  • Secondary value with more leverage appeal comes from Keon Ellis (+10.4 and +10.2 min), KJ Simpson (+10.7 min), Tolu Smith (+11.2 min), and Andre Jackson Jr. (+11.6, +8.0, +7.9 min). These plays are strong salary savers that can pivot off the most obvious chalk in tournaments while still carrying legitimate ceilings.

Deep Rotation Notes

ATL - Backup big squeeze

  • Mouhamed Gueye loses -5.7 min from Caleb Houstan's questionable tag, making him an avoid in most formats.
  • With no meaningful positive swings here, Atlanta is more of a stay-away for value compared to other teams on this slate.

CHI - Volatile wings and guards

  • Kevin Huerter picks up +6.6 and +5.3 min from Isaac Okoro and Tre Jones, but also loses -7.5 min from Zach Collins, leaving his role extremely context-dependent.
  • Julian Phillips has strong positive spikes (+9.6, +6.3, +5.8 min) but also a -7.6 min downside from Zach Collins, which makes him a GPP-only swing piece.
  • Ayo Dosunmu gains +5.4 and +5.1 min in some outcomes, while Jevon Carter eats a -5.3 min hit, reinforcing Dosunmu as the more attractive tournament option if you want exposure here.

CHO - LaMelo driven bench upside

  • LaMelo Ball being probable unlocks big jumps for KJ Simpson (+10.7 min), Tre Mann (+8.2 min), Tidjane Salaun (+8.1 min), Antonio Reeves (+7.8 min), and Sion James (+5.6 min).
  • Drew Peterson is the clear loser at -6.6 min, placing him off the DFS radar.
  • This cluster profiles well for game stacks, with multiple cheap Hornets becoming viable when Ball is in.

CLE - Deep bench squeezed

  • Lonzo Ball's probable tag cuts minutes hard for Sam Merrill (-7.4 min), Luke Travers (-8.1 min), Craig Porter Jr. (-9.9 min), Chris Livingston (-13.1 min), and Jaylon Tyson (-18.2 min).
  • These are essentially non-plays on this slate, and Cleveland value is not a priority compared to other teams.

DAL - Frontcourt and guard expansion

  • Daniel Gafford's questionable tag lifts Dwight Powell by +10.0 min, with Brandon Williams (+7.0 min), Dante Exum (+5.8 min), and Caleb Martin (+5.4 min) also benefiting.
  • P.J. Washington's situation stacks on top of this, with Powell (+9.2 min), Martin (+8.9 min), Exum (+5.9 min), Brandon Williams (+8.1 min), and D'Angelo Russell (+8.2 min) all seeing starter-level or high backup workloads.
  • Dallas becomes one of the premier value hubs, and you can rotate secondary pieces around Nembhard in MME.

DEN - Star-dependent depth

  • Jalen Pickett's +16.3 min from Jamal Murray is one of the largest jumps on the slate and makes him a priority value in Denver-heavy constructions.
  • Spencer Jones benefits from both Murray (+8.0 min) and Jokic (+16.9 min), while Peyton Watson's combined boosts (+7.5 and +7.6 min) make him a solid mid-range option.
  • Julian Strawther picks up +8.6 min from Jokic, giving Denver four playable cheap pieces when building around Nuggets exposure.

DET - Wing and guard consolidation

  • If Duncan Robinson is out, Tolu Smith (+11.2 min) and Jaden Ivey (+10.1 min) become strong mid-tier value pieces.
  • Multiple wings and guards lose meaningful time: Ausar Thompson (-5.3 min), Marcus Sasser (-6.5 min), Wendell Moore Jr. (-8.5 min), Ronald Holland (-9.4 min), and Daniss Jenkins (-10.7 min).
  • Focus Detroit exposure on Smith and Ivey in tournaments; the rest of the bench is largely unusable.

HOU - Big man rotation

  • Steven Adams being questionable raises Jeff Green by +9.2 min and Clint Capela by +6.4 min, with Aaron Holiday gaining +5.3 min.
  • Green's combination of +9.2 min and likely modest ownership makes him a solid leverage value in GPPs, while Capela's bump supports his floor in all formats.

LAC - End-of-bench fallout

  • Jordan Miller's questionable tag cuts Kobe Sanders (-7.1 min) and Yanic Niederhauser (-8.6 min).
  • These are fringe players even before the minute cuts, so the Clippers do not offer meaningful rotation value here.

MIA - Bam up, fringe down

  • Norman Powell's questionable status gives Bam Adebayo a +5.2 min bump, solidifying his role and ceiling.
  • Keshad Johnson (-6.1 min), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (-7.8 min), and Pelle Larsson (-10.8 min) all lose significant time, eliminating them from serious DFS consideration.
  • Bam becomes a stronger one-off play, especially on FanDuel, given the increased minutes.

MIL - Guard chaos and upside

  • Gary Harris being questionable hands Andre Jackson Jr. +8.0 min while crushing Ryan Rollins (-14.3 min).
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo being probable also helps Andre Jackson Jr. (+7.9 min) and Gary Harris (+5.1 min), consolidating their roles.
  • Kevin Porter Jr.'s questionable status supercharges Cole Anthony (+13.3 min), Andre Jackson Jr. (+11.6 min), Ryan Rollins (+8.3 min), and Gary Harris (+8.1 min), making this one of the most volatile yet rewarding guard rotations for tournaments.

SAC - Backcourt volatility

  • Dennis Schroder's questionable tag and Malik Monk's probable tag both fuel Keon Ellis, with +10.4 and +10.2 min boosts, respectively, giving him a clear path to high-20s or more minutes.
  • Doug McDermott (+7.5 min) and Devin Carter (+6.7 min) are viable deep GPP darts, while Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud have both positive and negative swings, highlighting their volatility.
  • Dylan Cardwell is a clear loser at -8.7 min and should be avoided.

Roster Construction

  • Start builds with Ryan Nembhard at +18.1 min and one or two of the major minute gainers from Denver (Pickett, Spencer Jones, Watson) or Milwaukee (Cole Anthony, Andre Jackson Jr.) to lock in strong value cores.
  • For single entry and small-field, lean into the more stable minute spikes like Jaden Ivey (+10.1 min), Tolu Smith (+11.2 min), Keon Ellis (+10.4 min), and Bam Adebayo (+5.2 min), avoiding players with large negative downside swings.
  • In large-field GPPs, diversify by rotating through secondary values from Dallas, Detroit, Sacramento, and Charlotte, while intentionally fading or underweighting benches that take big hits, such as Cleveland, Miami wings, and the deepest Sacramento reserves.
